Huby Parish Council
Welcome to the website of Huby Parish Council. Here you will find minutes of previous meetings and financial reports as well as the date and agenda for the next meeting.
Huby is about 10 miles north of the centre of York, with a population approaching 1,500 people. We boast two pubs, one of which is also a Chinese restaurant, a fish and chip shop, a village shop and post office, a volunteer run village hall, a sports field and a children’s playground and a Parish Magazine, the Huby Voice. There is a Methodist Chapel in the village.
Huby Parish Council has seven elected volunteer members from the local area who give their time to help improve the Village.
The Council pays for grass cutting and tree maintenance in the village as well as for the production of the Huby Voice. We have installed several seats throughout the village. The Council has part funded two Vehicle Activated Speed Signs to help speed awareness and has purchased and maintains two defibrillators. The Council is currently involved in the finance for the expansion of the village shop.
The former district and county councils have been integrated into the new Unitary Council. Their webpage is: www.northyorks.gov.uk which has links to all of the services they provide.
